Just What Is RSS?

First off it is the abbreviation of 'really simple syndication' in other words it is putting new content onto people's websites to sell. So if you are a newbie to all this as I am I am learning a whole new language. If you are starting up your website and or blogs, you will need to generate people to it so they can see what is going on in your world. Learning about RSS will only enhance your sales and can even improve your Google rank.

The RSS feeds literally send out new messages to everyone on your list, telling them to take a look at your website because there is something new on it. It might be a contest you started to draw in more people or a cool promotion. This is nice because it is automated, it happens extremely fast and you do not have to put a lot of work into it. So it is a great idea to have RSS.

People that just starting up their websites and blogs ask what I have to do to get this started, well it is quite simple. You make up a new content, or you can add something new to it. Then you will start sending out the RSS feed to notify your customers and readers of what is new on your web site or blog. Once it reaches your customers they will see an XML document that will give them the information that you have added. Hopefully this will encourage them to go to your web site and blog and read about it. They will have the Feed Reader and can then read about what you have added.

Some worry that their readers will not go to the blog or web site therefore not clicking onto your site, but you must remember people that use your RSS are usually pretty busy, but they will visit your site when they can. They have been notified so it is up to them now. There are some web site owners that do not use RSS, they believe they will lose potential customers and then there are some that swear by it, again it is up to you to use it or not. You must constantly update your blog and web site, you are going to have to change it around a bit, add new items, pictures, etc. to hold the interest of your readers, or they will go elsewhere. They will check out the web site and blog, but if it still remains the same for six months, they will become bored and move on.
